Die Schülerinnen und Schüler der 3b nahmen am 22.Dezember 2015 von 8.30 – 9.30 am weltweiten Projekt “Capturing Christmas across the Globe” teil. Mittels Skype unterhielten wir uns mit Schülerinnen und Schülern aus Neu Delhi, Indien.
Dieses weltweite Projekt lief vom 24.Novemberbis 24. Dezember und sollte Schülerinnen und Schüler verbinden, um die Art und Weise, wie Weihnachten in den unterschiedlichen Ländern gefeiert wird, miteinander zu teilen.
Als zuerst die Tonübertragung nicht funktionierte, tanzten die indischen Kinder zu Jingle Bells – und hier in Wien – sangen wir einfach mit. Mit Papier und Stiften kommunizierten wir, tauschten Namen und Weihnachtsgrüße aus. Da wir in Indien gehört wurden, konnten wir den Schülerinnen und Schülern über unsere Weihnachtsbräuche erzählen. Zum Glück funktionierte die Tonübertragung schließlich doch. So erfuhren wir, wie indische Schülerinnen und Schüler die Weihnachtsfeiertage verbringen.
Our students (Praxismittelschule der PH Wien, Vienna, Austria) participated in the global project: „Capturing Christmas across the Globe“. We used Skype to get in touch with Arti Chopra`s students from India.
The global collaborative project titled, ‚Capturing Christmas across the Globe‘ using Skype connected classrooms from across the globe between 24th of November 2015 and 24th of December 2015, with the aim to capture ways in which Christmas is celebrated across the world.
In the lead up to Christmas, students strengthened their understanding of different Christmas traditions across the world by asking other children about how they celebrate Christmas in their community – their traditions, celebrations, symbols, food and festivities that mark Christmas for them and sang carols in their native language/ traditional way.
On December 22nd, we did our Skype Call. Problems due to the used devices could not stop the enthusiasm. First we had no audio signal, so the Pupils from India sang and danced „Jingle Bells“ and here in Vienna the kids joined the song. Using pens and sheets of paper, we managed to “talk” to each other. Finally the connection worked, so we could talk about the way we celebrate Christmas Eve in Austria and learnt about the celebration in India.
